Pat Schwaiger

Pat is a Registered Nurse and Licensed Midwife. She also maintains the national credential of Certified Professional Midwife.  Delivering babies for 29 years, she has practiced in Indiana, Wyoming and Montana.  She is the mother of four grown children, who have blessed her with five grandchildren.

Pat is a member of the Midwives’ Alliance of North America, the Montana Midwives’ Association, and the Wyoming Midwives’ Association.

Appointed by the Governor of Wyoming in 2010, she sits as Chairperson for the Wyoming State Board of Midwifery.

Pat is the founder of the Mountain Midwives’ Coalition, a long-standing cooperative group of midwives from MT, WY, SD, ND, and ID.

This practice is referred to as “Mountain Midwives”, in the plural, because there are several professionals and students associated with our group.  During the school year, apprentice midwives accompany Pat for home visits, births and birth classes.

Melanie Lennon

Passionate about birth as a means of empowering women and giving them strength and inner-confidence for the days ahead, Melanie is a birth doula and student midwife. She is DONA certified and attending the Midwives College of Utah. She is a mother of three great kids who have now given her ten fantastic grandkids. Believing that family is the center of life and that birth helps to cement this foundation, she works with birthing families to make their experience all that they hope and imagine it can be. She lives in a quiet place outside of Powell, Wyoming and is excited about the upcoming opportunities for Wyoming families in birth.

Cara Virostko

Cara Virostko, mother of two, is our breastfeeding consultant. She is an experienced nursing mother who has faced many of the common problems encountered by new moms and has developed a deeper understanding of the nursing relationship. Through her work as a leader for La Leche League, she is able to utilize the unique resources and educational opportunities of LLL to continually improve her ability to provide mother-to-mother support and encouragement. Cara believes that helping mothers form a strong nursing relationship with their babies is one of the best ways to help build a healthier global community.

Bonnie Gregory

Bonnie Gregory’s lifestyle is built around natural health.  She is a mother of three boys, a political activist, and the Family Herbalist for Mountain Midwives.  Her diverse interests are all focused on her priority of “Family First”.  She provides consultation for the staff of Mountain Midwives.  Bonnie raises, harvests, and prepares her own vegies, fruits and herbs at her home in Sheridan, WY.
